Heavy lake-effect snow led to a 29-vehicle pileup Friday morning on Interstate 94 near Hartford, Michigan, about 25 miles west of Kalamazoo.

According to WXYZ.com, at least 17 tractor-trailers were involved in the wreck that closed down the stretch of highway for several hours. Police say the wreck occurred about 9:20 a.m. during limited visibility.

At least one person was pinned in the pileup for a short period of time, but there was no immediate word on injuries.
